Additional funding is available through the Disaster Recovery Initiative (DRI) and Disaster Recovery Enhancement Fund (DREF). Such cases are addressed in real-time on a case-by-case basis rather than only once a year under an annual competition.
Entities eligible to apply for grants are limited to units of local governments, including counties. These entities may apply on behalf of nonprofits.
Eligible applicants are Colorado counties with fewer than 200,000 residents and cities with fewer than 50,000 residents.
Applications were to be submitted by February 18, 2020. A similar deadline is anticipated annually.
