The Meadows Foundation is a charitable organization that aims to assist Texas residents and improve the quality of life for current and future generations. The Foundation was founded in 1948 by Algur H. and Virginia Meadows with the purposes of eliminating ignorance, hopelessness, and suffering, protecting the environment, promoting cultural enrichment, encouraging excellence, and fostering mutual understanding and cooperation among people. Grants are disbursed throughout the State of Texas, however between one-third and one-half of all donations are provided to Dallas-area organizations.

The Foundation does not generally make grants for church construction, fundraising events, annual campaigns, special events, travel expenses, or single artistic events or performances.
Only nonprofit organizations with a 501 (c)(3) determination from the IRS that are based in and provide services for the State of Texas may receive funding.
There are no specific annual deadlines. However, it is advised that project proposals be submitted several months in advance of the estimated start date. Organizations may only submit one application within a twelve month period.
