It Takes a Village: Collaborative Grantseeking for Economic Development
It Takes a Village: Collaborative Grantseeking for Economic Development

Upcoming: Sep 24, 2025 at 2:00PM EST

Economic development is a complex, multi-faceted process that epitomizes the phrase – it takes a village. No single entity can foster sustainable growth by itself. Instead, economic development is driven by active public and private sector collaboration to create jobs, build infrastructure, and cultivate the area workforce.

Success in these joint ventures generates jobs, boosts tax revenue for public services, enhances quality of life, and builds resilience for local communities. Area businesses also benefit from a supportive growth environment, gaining skilled labor, vital infrastructure, market expansion, and innovation, all boosting profitability and viability for the private sector.

Join our team of Grants Office funding experts as we navigate the grants landscape in economic development. In this 60-minute session, we will explore public and private sector funding opportunities, naming key players and major trends while illustrating how national, regional, and foundation funders prioritize their grantmaking efforts. Along the way, we will share helpful strategies on how to build collaborative grant proposals that involve more than one applicant.

This event is intended for public and private sector audiences in the US and Canada. Whether you belong to a small business, a local government, a community organization, a utility company, or a chamber of commerce, you don’t want to miss this opportunity to improve your grant readiness and help your next economic development proposal stand out amongst the rest.

Rallying Grant Funding & Microsoft Programs to Support Your Computer Science Needs
Rallying Grant Funding & Microsoft Programs to Support Your Computer Science Needs

Apr 15, 2021

Computer Science (CS) and Computational Thinking (CT) are increasingly essential skills within students' college and career readiness toolbelt. While a clear pathway to a STEM career may be top of mind for many, CS and CT competencies have non-STEM applications, too – from developing models to analyze political behavior data to sound design and production within a music hall or theater. Yet despite this broad potential for future career pathway relevance, less than half of K12 districts in the United States offer any form of meaningful CS or CT course pathway. Students from rural, low-income, and/or ethnic and racial minorities are especially disadvantaged as their districts often lack the resources to start such programs. Fortunately, over the last 5 years, grant funding support for CS and CT programming has substantially increased. For those who know where to look, these funds can provide the much-needed support to launch a school or district-wide CS and CT initiative.

Join Grants Office and special guests from HP, Microsoft TEALS, DigiGirlz, and Airband as we discuss how your district can leverage the plethora of public grant funding available, figure out which of the grant-fundable HP devices are best suited to your needs, and how you can get these devices connected to facilitate innovative computer science learning within your classrooms.

As a bonus, following the event, all registrants will receive an exclusive white paper featuring grant-seeking tips and tricks for your next technology-enabled computer science project. If your district is interested in starting or expanding its computer science offerings, you won’t want to miss out on this fast-paced and informative event!

Scaling your IT in a Pandemic: Maximizing your HHS Provider Relief Fund Payments to Support Your Technology-rich Projects.
Scaling your IT in a Pandemic: Maximizing your HHS Provider Relief Fund Payments to Support Your Technology-rich Projects.

Mar 23, 2021

The Coronavirus Pandemic hit healthcare providers especially hard as they had to simultaneously deal with increased and expensive safety protocols and declining revenue as elective surgeries were canceled and demand for non-COVID health services declined.  The strain was particularly acute for the IT operations at health care facilities as providers had to quickly reorganize to support a remote workforce and deliver care via telemedicine technology.

As part of the federal response, $178 billion in stimulus funds has been allocated to help providers deal with these operating deficits.  The funds can be used to support healthcare-related pandemic expenses as well as to replace lost revenue.  Many providers were reluctant to spend these funds because of changing guidance from the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).  The good news is that the latest stimulus package signed into law on December 27, 2020 codified many of these regulations and give providers added flexibility in how they can spend these federal dollars.

Join Grants Office and special guests from Okta as we explore the HHS Provider Relief Fund and other sources of funding that can be used to support your pressing IT initiatives.  We will discuss best practices for maximizing these funding opportunities to optimize your IT apparatus to function in an ongoing pandemic and a future healthcare landscape that will be forever changed.
