Program Snapshot: School Violence Prevention Program

SUMMARY: The Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) offers the COPS School Violence Prevention Program (SVPP) which is designed to improve security at schools and on school grounds through evidence-based school safety programs and the purchase and installation of certain allowable technologies.

Examples of eligible services and equipment include:

  • surveillance cameras
  • door access controls
  • notification systems
  • additional equipment to improve the overall security at schools

 

A total of $73 million is available for 200 awards with a grant ceiling of $500,000.

 

DEADLINE: SF-424 is due in Grants.gov by June 18, 2025. Full application is due in JustGrants by June 26, 2025.

 

ELIGIBILITY: Eligible applicants include states, units of local government, Indian tribes, and public agencies such as school districts, including public charter schools and school districts with a single school; School boards; and Law enforcement agencies.
