Grant Spotlight: Transitional Housing Assistance Grants for Victims of Domestic Violence, Dating Violence, Stalking or Sexual Assault

SUMMARY: The Office on Violence Against Women (OVW) Transitional Housing Assistance Grant Program supports projects that provide 6 to 24 months of transitional housing and support services for victims who are homeless or in need of transitional housing or other housing assistance as a result of a situation of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, or stalking; and for whom emergency shelter services or other crisis intervention services are unavailable or insufficient.

Examples of eligible services and equipment include:

  • Transitional Housing including funding for operational expenses
  • Short-term housing assistance including rental or utilities payments and related expenses
  • Supportive Services to: secure permanent housing, secure employment, counseling and other support to integrate into a community (transportaion, childcare etc.)

A total of $40,000,000 is available for an anticipated 80 awards. Award amounts will range between $400,000 - $500,000


DEADLINE: June 9, 2025


ELIGIBILITY: Eligible applicants include Native American Tribal governments (Federally Recognized), City or township governments, Nonprofits having a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS other than institutions of higher education, Nonprofits that do not have a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education. State governments, County governments
