SUMMARY: The Rural Ontario Development (ROD) Program provides cost-share funding to support projects that foster economic growth, workforce development, community infrastructure, and business expansion in rural Ontario communities. This program aims to build strong, sustainable rural economies by addressing local challenges and creating new opportunities.
Examples of eligible services and equipment include:
• Economic diversification initiatives;
• Workforce development programs;
• Community infrastructure enhancements;
• Business development activities.
A total of $20 million in funding is available over two years, with provincial contributions provided on a cost-share basis depending on the project stream.
DEADLINE: Applications must be submitted by September 24, 2025.
ELIGIBILITY: Eligible applicants include municipalities, not-for-profit organizations, Indigenous communities, local services boards, and small businesses with 1–20 employees located in rural Ontario.
