Grant Spotlight: Midsize and Large Drinking Water System Infrastructure Resilience and Sustainability Program

SUMMARY: The Midsize and Large Drinking Water System Infrastructure Resilience and Sustainability Program is designed to support infrastructure projects that increase the resilience of midsize and large drinking water systems to natural hazards, extreme weather events, and that reduce cybersecurity threats.  

Example of eligible technology projects include:

  • Implementing or updating drinking water system operation technology );
  • Physical security to protect facility and IT assets (e.g., installation of locks, doors, video cameras, etc.)
  • installation of cyber locks, multifactor authentication, firewalls, virtual private networks and segmentation

A total of $9.5 million is available for six projects.


DEADLINE: Applications are due October 6, 2025.


ELIGIBILITY: Eligible applicants include a public water system that serves a community with a population of 10,000 or more. There are two priority areas: National Priority Area 1 for public water systems that serve communities with a population between 10,000 and 100,000 individuals and National Priority Area 2 for public water systems that serve communities with a population of 100,000 individuals or more.
