SUMMARY: The Social Impact Fund represents a high-priority strategy for the Association to drive equitable health and well-being for all, specifically through the lens of adverse social determinants of health and related structural inequity. Investments through these funds are designed to address the needs of communities within the communities themselves.  
Examples of eligible services and equipment include:
- Access to Health and Health Care (examples include innovation and technology, health tech, advancing technologies, service and transportation platforms).
 
- Food Security (examples include urban farming and farming cooperatives)
 
- Economic Resiliency and Poverty Reduction (examples include vocational training, recidivism programs, employment programs)
 
Award amounts vary by project scope and size. Grant awards are up to $250,000 and loans are up to $500,00, and investments are made up to $1,000,000.
DEADLINE: Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.
ELIGIBILITY: Eligible applicants, including entrepreneurs and organizations addressing social drivers of health in under-resourced communities, are eligible to apply. The American Heart Association supports both for-profit and nonprofit organizations whose programs align with the Association’s mission and the Social Impact Funds focus areas.
